We just got back from a week long trip to Ixtapa. We stayed at the Krystal on the All Inclusive plan. We had a wonderful time! The weather was beautiful! We had no problems with the AI package. Two out of 9 got sick one night, but could not figure out what from. Everyone ate the same thing and not everyone was sick, so never did figure out what it was from. I don't think it was the food, just probably touched something and then didn't get hands washed before eating. We were able to have room service, coffee, food, whatever. The food was good, service was good. The only complaint we had was the chair situation at the pool. We have an early riser in our group, so at 6:00 a.m. he would go down and save chairs with towels & books. Then when we were having breakfast at the restaurant by the pool, we would see people go over and remove our things and put theirs there. We would have to get up and go over and tell them that those were our things and our chairs! What a pain. They have palapas on the beach and you have to sign up for them the day before. The pool at the Krystal is beautiful. It was just remodeled in December and has a nice waterfall & water slide. You can dive or jump off the waterfall ledge. It has a baby pool, a deep end by the slide, and all of the rest of it is one depth that you can walk in. This was very nice as we had one non-swimmer in our group. We did not have any trouble with service on food or drinks. You can order off the menu or have the buffet for all meals. It was the busiest hotel on the beach. We walked the beach everyday and many of the other hotels had very few people at them, not sure why. We did go out to eat one night and found excellent food at decent prices. We never made it over to Ixtapa Island, but went to Zihautenajo for a morning. I could have spent a lot more time there but it was very hot (Maybe I was hot-flashing ;-) LOL). Anyway, we would definitely return to Ixtapa and the Krystal Hotel.
