nature preserve?

I have heard of a nature preserve near Playa Linda.If I take bus to area where boat goes to Ixtapa Island,which direction do I go to get there?Can I walk there ? Is it worth it or should I just go to the island and relax, snorkle'and try and decide which place makes the best margaritas?
