I've stayed at Raqueros 3 or 4 times over the past three years (in Casita Pelicano). Last time I was there two women friends of mine stayed in the rooms in the main building. They both loved it. It is a wonderful place to spend a vacation...quiet, shady, relaxing, perfect. Hans and Angie are incredible hosts. Watching the sunsets with them (and other guests) with a nice glass of wine has been one of the high points of my life.

Manzanillo Bay is usually calmer and therefore much better than the main Troncones beach for swimming. The beach is very quiet. You can easily walk from Manzanillo Bay south around the point to the main Troncones Beach.

If you get up early in the morning and walk north from Raquereo there are usually some very nice small sea shells that wash up on the beach.

The food and drink is great at Cocina del Sol...75 metres up the beach. The Inn at Manzanillo Bay also has good food and they take credit cards.

I'm sure the other places are very nice as well as I have read on this board. Troncones is general is a lovely place to spend a vacation...even with the many changes that have occurred in a very short time. e-mail me if you have any questions that I might answer.
